How our coverage actually works
We run a single-origin dispatch model rather than pretending to have branch offices. Every technician and every van starts from Carmichael, which is why our response times get honestly worse the further you are from it — and why we would rather tell you that than quote a same-day window we cannot hold.
In practice: the inner ring — Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Arden-Arcade, Citrus Heights — is 8 to 15 minutes away, and those are the calls we can most often turn around within the hour. Sacramento proper, Rancho Cordova, Folsom, Roseville and Elk Grove sit 20 to 30 minutes out. Davis, Woodland, Lincoln and Placerville are 35 to 50 minutes, which usually means a scheduled window rather than an emergency response.
The Bay Area expansion is deliberately framed differently. Those 45 cities get scheduled installation and planned service work on batched routes — not same-day emergency dispatch, which we cannot honestly offer at that distance.
Utility and permit authority by county
Two things vary by address rather than by company, and both catch people out. Your electric utility decides which rebate programs you can claim at all — a rebate quoted for the wrong territory is worthless. Your permit jurisdiction decides the timeline: incorporated cities issue their own mechanical permits, while unincorporated communities go through the county.

Each city page names the exact permit office that will handle your submittal and the rebate program tied to that address. If a contractor quotes you SMUD money for a Roseville job, that is a red flag — Roseville is served by Roseville Electric.

We dispatch from Carmichael and cover the greater Sacramento area — roughly Lincoln and Roseville in the north down to Elk Grove in the south, and west to Davis and Woodland. There is no trip fee inside that footprint. The Bay Area is served on a scheduled basis rather than same-day, because the honest drive time from Carmichael is 1.5 to 2 hours each way.
In the Sacramento metro, usually yes — call before noon and we can often be there the same afternoon. We are open 8AM to 8PM, seven days a week. We are not a 24-hour company and will not take an overnight booking we cannot honour; outside those hours you can leave a message and it is the first call returned in the morning. Bay Area appointments are scheduled 1 to 3 business days out on batched routes.
It matters because rebate programs only apply inside their own utility’s service territory. Most of Sacramento County is SMUD. Roseville has its own municipal utility, Roseville Electric. Rocklin, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hills, West Sacramento, Davis and Woodland are PG&E. Your electric bill is the fastest way to check — whoever bills you for electricity is the only utility whose programs apply to your address.
