HVAC Services Across the San Francisco Bay Area
PULSE HVAC dispatches scheduled appointments throughout the Bay Area from our Carmichael headquarters. Heat pump retrofits, ductless mini-split installations, AC, and indoor air quality across San Francisco, the Peninsula, Silicon Valley, the East Bay, and Marin.

Bay Area cities we serve
San Francisco + Peninsula
Marine-influenced climate, Victorian and mid-century housing stock, dense heat-pump retrofit demand.
South Bay / Silicon Valley
Eichler ductless retrofits, strong BayREN + TECH Clean California rebate uptake, smart-thermostat heavy.
East Bay
Inland heat — Walnut Creek and Lamorinda hit 100°F+ in summer — high AC and heat-pump demand.
North Bay / Marin
Coastal fog, hillside hideaways, older ranch and mid-century housing — quiet mini-split retrofit market.
PULSE HVAC has been a Sacramento-area heating and cooling contractor since 2023. We're expanding our service area to cover the San Francisco Bay Area because there's strong demand for the work we specialize in — heat pump retrofits, ductless mini-split installations, and indoor air quality upgrades — and the Bay Area's rebate landscape (BayREN, TECH Clean California, Peninsula Clean Energy, and Marin Clean Energy) makes it one of the best places in the country to replace gas equipment with high-efficiency electric.
How Bay Area service works from a Carmichael headquarters
We're honest about how this works. Our trucks roll out of Carmichael in the morning and we batch Bay Area visits into efficient routes so the math works for both sides. That means:
- Scheduling is 1–3 business days out, not same-day. When you book we'll lock a firm 2-hour arrival window.
- No trip fees. Every estimate is in-person and free regardless of where you are in the Bay Area — we absorb the drive.
- Genuine emergencies: if your system is fully down during a heat event or cold snap and you can't wait 24 hours, call us first. We'll be honest about whether we can fit you in or recommend a local partner who can.
- Permits and inspections: we're CSLB C-20 licensed statewide and handle all city/county HVAC permits in your area.
The shorthand: think of us as a scheduled-service contractor for planned work — heat pump upgrades, equipment replacement, indoor air quality projects, mini-split additions for room conversions — and a referral source when you need same-day repair.
What we specialize in
The Bay Area's mild marine climate and electrification incentives align tightly with the work we do best:
- Heat pump installation and repair — replacing gas furnaces or aging AC with high-SEER2/HSPF2 air-source heat pumps, including cold-climate Mitsubishi/Daikin systems for foggy zones
- Ductless mini-split systems — perfect for Eichlers, Victorians, and ADU conversions where there are no ducts to retrofit
- AC installation and repair — the inland East Bay (Walnut Creek, Lamorinda, Tri-Valley) sees real summer heat and growing AC demand
- Indoor air quality — HEPA filtration, fresh-air ventilation, and air sealing — especially relevant after wildfire seasons
- Smart thermostat installation — qualifying for utility rebates and integrating with heat pump systems
Rebates and incentives we navigate
Bay Area heat pump and mini-split projects qualify for multiple rebate programs. We itemize them at the estimate so you see the net cost:
- BayREN Home+ — the Bay-Area-wide rebate program for heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heaters, insulation, and air sealing. See current BayREN rebates for the latest amounts.
- TECH Clean California — heat-pump-specific incentives that vary by equipment.
- Utility-specific programs — Peninsula Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Marin Clean Energy, East Bay Community Energy, San Jose Clean Energy, and CleanPowerSF each run additional electrification incentives that change year to year.
We file the paperwork. You see the after-rebate number on the proposal.
CSLB licensing and local permitting
PULSE HVAC holds an active California Contractors State License Board C-20 (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning) license, which is valid in every Bay Area county. We pull permits through the local Building Department for every installation — San Francisco DBI, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Contra Costa County, Alameda County, Marin County — and coordinate Title-24 compliance documentation and HERS testing where required.

Bay Area HVAC FAQ
We dispatch from our Carmichael office in the greater Sacramento area on planned full-day Bay Area routes. Bay Area appointments are scheduled 1–3 business days out with a firm 2-hour arrival window — we don't promise same-day emergency dispatch to the Bay Area. We charge zero trip fees and every estimate is in-person and free. If a faster local option is the right call for your specific situation, we'll tell you.
45 cities across 4 sub-regions — SF + Peninsula, South Bay / Silicon Valley, East Bay, and North Bay / Marin. We deliberately don't cover every Bay Area city; the directory above shows the full list. Cities not in the directory (Oakland, Richmond, Hayward, Fremont, Livermore, and several others) are outside our current service footprint.
Heat pump installation and repair (replacing gas furnaces or aging AC with high-efficiency air-source heat pumps), ductless mini-split systems (Eichlers, Victorians, ADU conversions), AC installation and repair (especially for the inland East Bay), indoor air quality (HEPA, fresh-air ventilation), and smart thermostat installation. The Bay Area's mild climate and electrification rebate landscape are well-aligned with the work we do best.
Yes. PULSE HVAC holds an active California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning license, valid statewide. We pull permits through every Bay Area county and city building department — SF DBI, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Contra Costa County, Alameda County, Marin County — and coordinate Title-24 compliance and HERS verification.
Bay Area heat pump projects are eligible for BayREN Home+ — the Bay-Area-wide rebate program for heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heaters, insulation, and air sealing — plus TECH Clean California heat-pump-specific incentives. Many Bay Area cities are also served by a Community Choice Energy provider (Peninsula Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, MCE, East Bay Community Energy, San Jose Clean Energy, CleanPowerSF) that runs additional electrification programs. See current BayREN rebates for the latest amounts — we itemize every applicable program at the estimate.
